How to improve the success rate of sales in a call center

Working as a call center operator is mostly thankless and difficult. Both sides of a call reach a successful sales agreement in only a few cases. If you want to increase sales within the call center, read the following five tips published originally on the Call Centre Helper website.

1. Create a team of extroverts

Hire operators who are friendly, open and talkative. Successful sales calls are rather longer than shorter. Extroverted types of people can induce a positive atmosphere and convince the called people to purchase more than introverted individuals.

2. Focus on the introduction

Create an introductory call script that will break the ice between you and the called person. Do not let your potential customer know that you understand you are calling in a bad moment and when certainly has a lot to do. Rather ask if he can devote you a few minutes of time. Be polite, introduce yourself, the company, the product and keep constant attention.

3. Promote competition

Consider the possibility to run individual employee or team competitions. The work will become a play and the competition will increase your motivation for performance. Encourage employees to share their positive and negative experience. Try to implement the winner’s tactics for the entire sales team.

4. Do not miss customers waiting on the phone

Sometimes, there is a lack of staff and not all calls can be answered immediately or within a short time. Up to 69% of clients even do not leave a message which makes it impossible for you to trace them. Get a tracking software that will send you email notifications including callers’ phone numbers when you miss a call.

5. Invest in a quality listening

If a call center environment is too noisy, it is reflected in the quality of the calls with clients. Operators have to speak loudly, which is surely not pleasant for the called people. Therefore, invest in quality equipment for operators that will filter out the background noise in the office.
