There are a few sentences no customer wants to hear and you should respect that. Use word "no" only occasions where you cannot avoid it. Usually you can exchange it with something else. The more the customer is satisfied with you what you say, the more chances you have to make successful sales.

1) "This is not my department."

Your task is to make your customer happy. If you do not know the answer, provide contact to someone else. Do not lie to customer but do not leave him without an answer.

2) “You can trust me.

Have you ever noticed that your customer is not really listening to you? The reason may be that you are acting like a typical salesperson. Salespeople do not always have the best reputation. If you  try by starting to convince him or her that you are credible, it will probably have opposite effect. You should realize that people trust what they see, not what they hear. You must win the customer´s confidence through your behavior and work.

3) "I do not use it myself."

Others will believe in what you present only if you present it personally. When you sell one brand of cars and drive another brand of car, you cannot convince the customer to close the deal.

4) "It is against company policy."

No one likes this sentence. If your policy conflicts with the wishes of the customer, either break it or find out the best alternative solution. Does the customer want to return goods but does not have a receipt? Offer an exchange instead of returning money.

5) "It may be out of your price range."

Even if a customer says that it is too expensive, treat them as potential customers. It is possible that they do not have enough money but they do not want you know it at the beginning of the sale.

6) "I am off today."

If you cannot deal with customer´s need, let him know in advance and provide contacts to someone who can.
