Do you sell too little through your website? We know why!

Online selling is not easy, therefore, you probably welcome the findings of Qubit, who collected user data and complaints from 400 websites for three years. They identified ten areas which have greatest impact on sales success of your website.

  1. Price. On the Internet, consumers are much more sensitive about price. According to some, part of the possible negative effect of higher prices can be limited by customizing the user interface for a particular consumer.
  2. Product range. One of the reasons for the popularity of online shopping is the wide range and availability of products. Consumers have at hand a lot of things and wants to reach them easily. Therefore, it pays to invest in instruments recommending other items, a selection of seasonal products, related goods, etc.
  3. Sizes. In a number of online stores, there are still not available good tools to help customers find the right size of goods. However, even a simple table can reduce the amount of returns and complaints from dissatisfied customers.
  4. The functionality of the website. According to the Qubit, Amazon would decrease sales by $ 2 million, if the Checkout button moved to the bottom of the page. So when you offer a page feature, make sure that it works the way it should.
  5. Delay. Customers are impatient, so the speed of the website can be a frequent source of complaints. It is expected that this criterion will move higher in the ranking this year.
  6. Search on site. If your search does not work as well as Google, users get annoyed. Try to add advanced search tools.
  7. Goods in stock. People expect that everything will be in stock. If not and goods remain on the website, customers will complain.
  8. Navigation. If not everything on the page is clearly marked and the navigation is not simple, people will leave.
  9. Discount coupons. Users often complain that it is difficult to find a box for coupons for discount. Therefore, when you offer a discount code, make sure that the customer will know where to enter it.
  10. Images. If the website is not good looking, people will bounce it. A study tracking eye movements showed that users first scan over the page before they start reading. Therefore, product images are an absolute priority. In addition, consumers will view a several images before buying a product, and in clothing, they prefer when clothes are displayed on models rather than separately.
