"Deselling": why it can pay to sell the client less rather than more

In the English-speaking world, the term "upselling" has found its place in business terminology: it refers to selling additional products or services to a client after a purchase, thus increasing the volume of the given close.

Recently, however, a contrary concept has started to flourish – "deselling". How does it work and why should you know and use it?
