How to get good influencers for your brand

What happens when Tori Spelling mentions car rental in her tweet? Despite the fact that Tori is not likely to seriously think about this, such statement will have a huge impact. Once you had any influential person naming a particular product in a message to their audience, it means that the information will be well received.

Good influencers know their audience. They know what they are interested in and how to talk to them. So how do you get their attention? And how do you ensure that they say what you want about your product?

Attract them!

One option is to pay them. But even with celebrities it is worth to build a relationship. The same applies to bloggers. You may use the following tips:

  • Smaller influencers will be happy to help you in return for free samples. They have a smaller audience, but often very loyal.
  • Use listening tools such as HootSuite. Find out who is talking about you already. Then just ask them to declare it officially.
  • Engage with them on social media of their preference. Few advances in an attempt to show what you have things in common.
  • Follow up. Your e-mail could get lost. Make sure not to give up after the first failed contact attempt.

Working with influencer

Even celebrities are people, so take it into consideration. Do not expect them to say what you need if you don't provide a few hints. Remember that they have other people to write scripts for them. Rather provide more information to them than they need, rather than letting them stay on their own.

Do not forget good manners - always say please and thank you, even if you pay the celebrity. Furthermore, if you thank them via social media, you further increase the reach of their recommendations.
